McAuliffe Considers Governor’s Race
Clinton advisor is 17-year McLean resident.
NATIONAL POLITICAL consultant Terry McAuliffe filed paperwork to enter the Virginia gubernatorial race Nov. 10, moving one step closer to a serious run for the commonwealth’s highest office in 2009. With the economy slowdown, SHARE has experienced a nearly 50 percent increase in requests for services.
THIS PAST Saturday, 17-year-old Michael Ochoa, a junior at Langley High School, dedicated his Eagle Scout project to a worthy cause: Ochoa and his fellow scouts built shelves for a room at The Montessori School of McLean which will be designated for furniture donated to SHARE. Jessica Levine reflects on turning 18 on election day.
I AM number 585. In my mind, this three-digit numeral evokes vivid memories of a gray concrete sidewalk on a rainy afternoon, of rubber floors and artificial yellow lighting flickering in the desolate [Langley High School] gymnasium. As I stepped into the building on that momentous day, I knew I was born to do this. It was my destiny; it was in the cards. I had been born 18 years ago on Nov. 4 for this very reason.
