Churchill Road first graders Beck Heberlig, Aidan Khazai and Tara Chun found out that the pumpkin they are measuring is a lot heavier than it looks.

Churchill Road first graders got in the Halloween spirit by learning about pumpkins and doing pumpkin math. Students measured the height, weight and circumference of each pumpkin. They then estimated the number of seeds, then counted them in sets of ten. The children enjoyed this hands-on mathematics activity.
