Letter: Honest Like Wolf

Letter to the Editor

To the Editor:

As a resident of eastern Fairfax County, I have been represented by Representative Frank Wolf, by Delegate Barbara Comstock, and by Supervisor John Foust. Although I usually vote Democratic, I have voted for Wolf because he works for his constituents and has great moral integrity. He was willing to oppose the Republican party when his constituents demanded it, as he did when he fought the transmission lines. But Comstock is not Wolf. Her one major vote against the party line was to oppose the transportation bill, which finally made money available to repair our bridges and roads and pay for the Silver Line.

And on the ethics issue, did she ever report her complete lobbying earnings to the U.S. House of Representatives, as is required by candidates? Another ethics comment - it does not pass the smell test to have Comstock pushing three anti-union bills while being paid by the Workforce Fairness Institute, an anti-union group. John Foust, on the other hand, does not vote by party line. In fact, on ballots, Supervisors are not identified by party because they are expected to be loyal to constituents, not to party. John’s ethics are solid and he is straight and honest, a lot like Wolf.
