Members of the Friends of Pleasant Grove and the Board of Trustees from the McLean Community Foundation gathered together on the church’s Tom Sawyer Day to celebrate the funding of a new Heating and Air Conditioning unit that has been installed at the Historic Pleasant Grove Church in McLean. The church, built by the descendants of freed slaves and now a museum and community meeting facility, was in dire need of the new system to maintain and preserve the historical documents and elements of the church.

The McLean Community Foundation (MCF) is a non-profit formed in 1978 by the McLean Citizen’s Association to meet the philanthropic needs of a growing McLean community. The focus is entirely on efforts that benefit the McLean community.
