Hispanic Leadership Alliance president Jane Cruz (left) and her husband (right) Ron present the Courageous Achievement Scholarship to Mountain View High School senior Brenda Rivera (center). Despite losing both parents at a young age, Rivera’s determination to learn brought her to the United States several times. She enrolled at Mountain View at 18 and finished in three years. She plans to attend George Mason University and study accounting.
