“The President’s Own” United States Marine String Quartet performed to an enthusiastic audience of fourth through sixth graders and their teachers at Churchill Road Elementary School on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Members of the quartet played a variety of musical selections, typical of those that the group might perform at State dinners for foreign dignitaries at the White House. The audience particularly enjoyed the group’s rendition of “Let it Go” from the movie Frozen. In a question and answer session following the performance, the students, many of whom play band or string instruments, asked the musicians questions about how they began their musical careers.
