Notable incidents from Nov. 21-25

Burglary - 8500 block of Wedderburn Station Drive, Nov. 24, about 2:45 a.m. A resident reported she awoke to someone standing outside her bedroom. The suspect fled. Property had been taken from the home. The suspect was described as black, between 18 and 30 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a thin build. He wore a blue hoodie and blue jeans.

Burglary - 6600 block of Brawner St., Nov. 20, 9:10 a.m. A resident reported someone entered the residence and removed property.

Burglary - 2900 block of Lawrence Dr, 11/21/15, 7:51 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.

Person Experiencing Emotional Distress - 2200 block of Pimmit Run Lane, Nov. 20, 11:30 a.m. Officers responded for a 40-year-old person who was apparently experiencing significant emotional distress, and had consumed a large quantity of alcohol. He was also reported to be armed with a handgun. A perimeter was set up around the address and Mobil Crisis was summoned to assist. A temporary detention order was obtained and a peaceful surrender was eventually negotiated. Officers took him into custody without any injuries and he was transported to a mental health facility for further evaluation and care.

Attempted Robbery - 7500 block of Leesburg Pike, Nov. 20, 11:33 p.m. A 49-year-old Manassas man attempted to use a public restroom when he was assaulted and robbed by two men and a woman. The victim’s wristwatch was stolen during a brief struggle; it was later recovered in the parking lot. He sustained minor injuries but refused rescue. He was later transported to a local hospital by a friend. The only suspect descriptions were that of two black males and one black female. They may have fled the scene in a Toyota Highlander with Washington, D.C. license plates.

Shoplifting With Apprehension - 1900 block of Chain Bridge Rd., Nov. 20, 8:23 p.m. A person was stopped by store security after a security sensor was activated. Officers responded to assume the investigation. The suspect was found to be in possession of stolen merchandise from several different stores in Tysons Corner Mall. As a result, a 21-year-old female of Ashley Glen Rd in Annandale, was arrested. She was transported to the Adult Detention Center and charged with petit larceny and possession of burglarious tools. All stolen merchandise was returned to its rightful owners.
