The Langley Robotics Team Wins Event, Creativity Award

The Langley Robotics Team finished in first place at the FIRST Robotics Chesapeake District Southern Maryland Event, March 16-18. Additionally, they were awarded the Creativity Award for the innovative design of their robot. The Langley Robotics Team is mentored by Physics teachers Mr. Foley and Mr. Swanson. The 60 person team is lead by Captains Nate Ludlow, Zach Lesan, Chris Larounis, Peter Swaak, Rania Saeed, Meso Kim, James Ellsworth and Shayan Golshani.

FIRST Robotics Competition is recognized as the premier high school engineering challenge. Teams of students have six weeks to conceptualize, design, build, program, modify and test a robot to participate in a competition that changes each year. Following the design and build phase, teams enter competitions to compete for scores that earn them a place at the FIRST Chesapeake District Championship. By winning this event, the Langley Robotics Team have qualified for and will attend the District Championship March 28-31 at the Xfinity Center at the University of Maryland.
