Spring2ACTion 2024 Unites Alexandria Nonprofits

ACT for Alexandria, the community foundation, announces the return of Spring2ACTion, Alexandria’s community-wide Giving Day on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. Celebrating its 14th anniversary, this online fundraising event allows local nonprofits to engage the community and raise critical funds. The goal is to engage 10,000 donors to raise $2.5 million for the 188 participating organizations.

“Now more than ever, Alexandria nonprofits need our support,” says Heather Peeler, President and CEO of ACT for Alexandria, which hosts the annual fundraiser. “With the end of COVID relief funding, the onset of local and national political elections, and the increasing cost of food and rent for families, the stakes are higher than ever. Our community is facing a myriad of challenges that require our collective action.”

While the official Giving Day is April 24, Early Giving starts April 10 with donations accepted online at www.Spring2ACTion.org. Donors can search by organization name or cause and donate through their mobile phone, tablet, or computer.

Since its inception in 2011, Spring2ACTion has raised more than $20 million for the nonprofit sector. Each year the local business community has played a significant role.
